Did you notice that the whole world has suddenly started bashing 13-year-old boys? Nowadays they are made responsible for every entertainment industry which seems to go downhill, most notably movies and music. They are responsible for Michael Bay and 50 Cent.

Well, NO. First off, Michael Bay and 50 Cent are responsible for themselves. To give you an adequate analogy: Criminals can't blame an indulgent society for their actions either. Secondly, I was NOT AT ALL that bad when I was thirteen years old. I did not listen to bad rap music and watch bad action movies. I imagine many 13 year olds today don't either - I may not exactly have been the average thirteen year old, but close enough. Third, the second generation of nerds (by which I mean 20 to 30 year olds today, who grew up with Spielberg movies and Star Wars) is at least equally responsible. I am one of them. But I'm trying my best nonetheless.

Ok... my original inspiration for this journal was this part of a review of "Revenge of the Fallen" over on imdb: "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the movie equivalent of a 13 year old boy who has stopped taking his ADHD meds and overindulged on caffeine, sugar, video games and porn. It makes me wonder if Michael Bay actually is a 13 year old boy--the victim of a tragic case of arrested development. 13 year old boys also appear to be the target demographic that this movie was made for."

The fact that I'm defending 13-year-olds and not the movie should give you an idea about my mindset right now.
